The Earth is the third planet away from the sun.It is 150 million km away.
DID YOU KNOW THAT MOON IS ABOUT THE SAME SIZE AS AUSTRALIA!

I WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT SPACE
THE MOON IS MADE OUT OF ROCK
IT TAKES 13 HOURS TO GET TO THE MOON BY ROCKET
PLUTO IS A DWARF PLANET.
THERE ARE 9 PLANETS IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM. THIS IS HOW I REMEMBER THEM

Did you know that Jupiter was hit by a huge meteor.
Did you know that the sun is a huge glowing sphere of hot gas most of this gas is hydrogen
(about 70%) and helium(about 28%)
Did you know that because of mercury`s closnes to the sun the planet is also very hot but surprisingly it isnt the hottest planet in the solar system and temperatures...
Did you know that on the 24 april 2007...subject posted by posted on
how hot is mercury? Brian Albin 04/17/07 10:18am... 04/19/07 01:38pm. Re how hot is mercury
Two interesting facts I found out are...If you attempted to count the stars in a galaxy at a rate of one every second it would take around 3000 years to count them all!!!!!
Also when Apollo 11's lunar module landed on the moon there was just 20 second of fuel remaining!!
I am loving learning about space - I just think it is so cool!!

Did you know the oldest star is about 1.2 billion years old??
from Ana
Did you know a black hole is formed after a heavy star explodes as a supernova??
from Ana
Did you know.....
Tides are caused by the pull of the moons gravity on the Earth's oceans?
from Ana
When Neil Armstrong took "one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind," the footprint he left was a permanent one. As their is no air on the moon his footprint sould last for many millions of years. Eventually tiny hits from small meteroids will cause the footprint to fade.
I wonder if it is still there, wouldn't it be interesting if they landed on the moon and photographed it??
fom Ana
only the side of the moon lit by the sun is bright enough to see. And because we see more of this side each month as the moon orbits the earth, and then less again, the moon seems to change shape. these changes are called moon's phases.
The moon is 384,400 km from earth and about 25% of earths size..
The moon orbits the earth once every month, with each orbit taking 27.3 days. It spins round once on its axis every 720 hours
the moon is the brightist object in the night sky, but it does not give out any light itself. It shines only because its light-coloured surface reflect

Wow!
Room 15, I am so thrilled to read all of your facts about space.
Keep building our fact file!
I'm impressed! Keep it up!
only the side of the moon is turned away from us is called its dark side. This is because the moon spins on its axis at exactly the same speed that it orbits the earth.

Why is Pluto feeling sad?
From Miss van Bellen's cousin!
did you know it takes 130 hours to get to the moon by car, 13 hours by rocket and 1.52 seconds by light speed? Mark
it takes 770 years to make a horseshoe orbit around earth for the moon. mark

did you know that venus has gon up to 475 degrees said Thomas.
the sun is not the biggest star in the universe and it is a middle sized star. There is a big star called the pistol star.
The earth is spinning on its axis at 1600km per hour!
All of the other planets can fit inside Jupiter.
When Galileo used his new telescope to look at Jupiter, he saw 4 moons which are now called: Europa,Ganymede,Io and Callisto together they are called the Galilean moons.
Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun.
